The 40th annual Mobile Big Game Fishing Club Labor Day Tournament gets underway this weekend. This could be the year they give away that million dollar prize for catching an Alabama state record Blue Marlin.
Fishing has been so good this year along the Alabama Gulf Coast, you have to believe it might happen. After all, Alabama's Blue Marlin state record is only a measly 779.3 pounds. That's well below the state records for Blue Marlin among the other Gulf Coast states.

Registration for the 40th annual Mobile Big Game Fishing Club Labor Day Tournament runs from 5-8 p.m. Friday. The captains meeting starts immediately after registration. Boats may leave after mandatory sign-out by captain or owner.
Entry fee is $175 per angler with a minimum of four anglers per boat for boats over 32 feet, and three anglers per boat for boats 32 feet and under.
The weigh dock at the clubhouse at Orange Beach Marina will be open from 5-9 p.m. Saturday and 4-9 p.m. Sunday. The awards brunch is set for 9:30 a.m. on Labor Day.
Categories also include catch and release, tuna, wahoo and dolphin.

Friday, Sept 1:
Registration: 5 PM until 8:30 PM.
$175 per angler with minimum of 4 anglers per boat for boats over 32 feet, and 3 anglers per boat for boats 32 feet and under.
Only the first 100 boats registered will be guaranteed Tournament handouts; shirts, ditty bags etc.
Club Members may register late without penalty but will not be quaranteed tournament handouts.
Dinner: 6 PM - 8 PM
Captain's Meeting: 8:30 PM.
Tournament officially begins and boats may leave
after mandatory sign out from the captain's meeting by captain or owner.
Saturday, Sept 2:
Fishing. Weigh dock: 5 PM until 9 PM.
Sunday, Sept 3:
Fishing. Boats must return under the Perdido Pass Bridge by 8 PM.
Weigh dock: 4 PM until 9 PM.
Monday, Sept 4:
Awards Brunch: 9:30 AM in the food tent.
