Sales at the high end of the market are good. Sunset Bay is expanding, adding 40 new units to one of the oldest condo developments on Plash Island. According to a story today in the Mobile Register 75% of the new units have already been sold, enough to commence construction. The 40 units will be built in two new five-story condo buildings a 24-unit building and a 16-unit building. The 40 new units are all two and three-bedroom condos and have sold at prices ranging from $450,000 to $750,000.
Buyers get a nice set of features and amenities with their purchase:
The Island Villa units will include most of the same amenities and design features used in the custom-built Sunset Bay homes, Bryan said. Buyers will receive membership in the Yacht Club. There are 80 boat slips and some of the condo buyers will receive a boat slip.
The new condo units will have 10-foot ceilings, fireplaces, Travertine floors in the baths, African granite counter tops, 8-foot interior doors, custom cabinets and stainless steel appliances. Read more
If you're looking for something a bit nicer you could always opt for a home at the Sunset Bay at Bon Secour. Only ten lots remain of the original 48. The developer is building a few model homes intended to sell in the $1.25 million range.
